Brief summary of career

Fr Daniel completed his MA (Kannada Folklore) from the Mysore University in 1993 and thereafter pursued and completed his doctoral thesis on Kannada folklore entitled "A Study on Kannada Folklore Literature, with special reference to the works of Dr G Shankara Paramashivya" at the Mysore University in 2006. During his academic carrier he has been the recipient of three gold medals for academic excellence from the Mysore University. He is the Principal of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce. Prior to this he has been the Vice Principal of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (2000-02), and at St. Joseph’s Evening College (1996-2000). He was also the Assistant Director of Ashirvad (1987-2000) which is a Centre for Non-formal and Continuing Education. His areas of interest are Kannada Literature, Cultural Studies, Tribal Studies, Psychology and Counselling. He is a Member of the Governing Body of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society, and has been appointed as the Karnataka Jesuit Province Coordinator for Higher Education. He is also a member secretary of the NAAC Peer Team which assessed eight colleges in the western region of India. He is a member of the UGC Expert Committee
