Department of Business Administration

One of the important measures of success of any formal education is the level of applicability it has in the formal world. The placement records at St. Joseph’s College of Commerce are reflective of this hands-on learning experience students receive in our prestigious college. The B.B.A. department is particularly proud of the achievement of graduates and students in securing attractive placements and internships from premiere global MNCs and conglomerates.

The college management has established a well-equipped Placements Cell to act as a liaison between the college and the companies. Ms. Komal Dave, coordinator of Placements, plays a pivotal role in ensuring greater prospects for students in securing valuable internships and jobs. Almost three dozen companies visited the college campus to recruit candidates. B.B.A. students, equipped with a world-class education and practical experience made the most of this great opportunity. Of these the ‘big-four’ audit firms like Ernst and Young, Deloitte, KPMG, Goldman Sachs recruited candidates to fill various roles- from risk advisory to compliance.

B.B.A students were offered positions which included those of market researchers, assurance, advisory, sales support, operations executive and customer relationship manager. Salaries vary from 3 lakhs per annum to 14 lakhs per annum, with the average being 3.25 lakhs per annum - 4 lakhs per annum. Students are also encouraged to do corporate internships to aid their classroom learning and further enhance their skills and practical application. Internships in the companies were a basis of ensuring that the experience could be better utilized in a permanent position as a graduate. Goldman Sachs offered a number of internships to students from the B.B.A. department.

SJCC has been successful in maintaining the placement record at over 90% over the years. This is testament to the quality of education and holistic development Josephites have access to in the B.B.A. department of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce.
