SJCC provides ample opportunities for students to participate in sports and games that are physically wholesome, mentally stimulating and satisfying, and socially sound. They cater to the physical fitness of the students. It is through games and sports the character is molded to these youngsters who are the future citizens of the country. Qualities like Leadership, honesty, integrity, dedication and health aspects are generated through these activities.

  1. Induction of qualified sportspersons in various games to the college by providing admissions based on their game merit while giving concessions to academic merit.

  2. Selection of students to various sports teams of the college by way of conducting selection and fitness trials and putting the team together.

  3. Promoting students who wish to achieve higher representation like University/State/National teams by participating in external selection trials conducted by relevant sports bodies.

  4. Team Practices in morning or evening sessions.

  5. Organizing inter-class competitions at the college to identify more sportsmen and women and also to boost the participation level of the students including encouraging non-sportsmen to participate in events conducted within the four walls to create a sportive atmosphere.

  6. Providing breakfast and snacks for sports students during practice.

  7. Allowing the students to participate in sports activities every day at the college premises during non-class hours in their respective areas of interest.

  8. Providing adequate playing materials and play areas to create an atmosphere of interest to participate in play activities.

  1. Participation in intercollegiate tournaments organized throughout the year by various institutions including University and corresponding state associations.

  2. Arranging friendly matches and Inter-college matches at the campus and a way to promote social interaction among sportsmen and women.

  3. Organizing SPIEL - an intercollegiate Sports Festival by inviting colleges of Bangalore and outside to conduct events at the campus to highlight the spirit of friendship, sportsmanship, etc.

  4. Organizing video and film shows to educate sportspersons regarding the advance of skills in advanced countries and also invite eminent sports personalities to inspire and educate the student body regarding the various aspects of sports and the hazards of doping.

  5. Organizing Bangalore Central University Intercollegiate tournaments.

  1. Colors: College Team coloured jerseys will be provided to all selected sportspersons who represent the college in various tournaments.

  2. Monetary: Monetary benefits are provided as refreshments and traveling allowances.

  3. Concessions: A concession in college fees is provided to sportspersons who are economically backward.

  4. During admissions enrollment of students with sports, merit is given academic percentage concessions if they have represented University/State/Nation.

  5. Attendance will be given to the students who participated in the tournaments in which the students represent the college, university, state, or national teams. This provision will be based on the official documents issued by the university, state or central governments, sports bodies, etc. With prior permission and the students should claim attendance in their ERP login by uploading necessary documents.

  6. Provide midday meals to the needy and economically weaker section of the sports fraternity.

  7. Publishing the achievements of achievers in college notice boards, periodicals and in newspapers.

  8. The College has a long list of achievers who have brought laurel and glory to the institutions and also to themselves by excelling in various fields of sports. Nearly 40 to 60 students in each academic year represent higher levels like University, State and Nation in various disciplines. Among these, some have been achievers by winning top places in their respective team events.
