The Constitution Day was celebrated at St. Joseph's College of Commerce by organizing a 'Preamble Reading' programme to the students and faculty. The reading of the preamble motivated students to imbibe the ethos of the Indian Constitution. The joint session of the Parliament was also telecast live to the students.
Session on Jesuit Education
The first year students of St. Joseph's College of Commerce had an insightful session on Jesuit education from 24th to 26th of June. This session was undertaken by a Jesuit priest, Fr. Dheeraj SJ, who explained the impetus of education and the role of Jesuits in this field. The students were made aware of the various Jesuit institutions functioning throughout the world. International Yoga Day 2019
On the 21st of June, 2019 the St. Joseph’s College of Commerce celebrated International Yoga Day. Ms. Vindhya, a passionate Yoga Teacher was the chief guest and instructor of the day.
Ms. Vindhya has completed Bachelors of Computer Application from St. Aloysius College Mangalore, she is a qualified Yoga Instructor from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana. At present she is pursuing MSC in Yoga at S-VYASA Yoga University - Bangalore.
Formal Orientation programs were conducted during the first week of June for all the first, second and third year UG and PG students. The students were addressed by the Principal Rev Dr. Daniel Fernandes S.J. They were briefed upon the Anti-Ragging Cell and Sexual Harassment (Prevention & Redressel) committee by the respective coordinators. Student Council Elections
Nominations for the Student Council and Department Coordinators was the highlight of the second week of college. The shortlisted candidates campaigned for around three days. Colorful banners and posters adorned the college premises and each candidate gave speeches validating thier candidature. There was also a question and answer session which all the students participated with a lot of excitement. The college election for the year 2019-2020 was held on June 20th with 94% of the students casting
