About Programme

Department of Commerce, St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC), with its established reputation in commerce education and its strong focus on industry relevance and employability, is well positioned to introduce a B.Com with Specialisation in FinTech. India’s financial services sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation, driven by UPI, digital banking, digital lending, AI, data analytics, blockchain and other emerging technologies. At the global level, FinTech-related roles are also among the fastest-growing occupations, highlighting the increasing demand for professionals who combine financial knowledge with digital and analytical capabilities.

In this context, introducing a B.Com. Specialisation in FinTech will enable students to build a strong foundation in accounting, finance, economics, taxation and business while developing industry-relevant capabilities in digital payments, digital banking, financial analytics, AI, risk, compliance and emerging financial technologies.

Grant Thornton Bharat Collaboration
The programme will be further strengthened through the institution’s tie-up with GT Bharat for delivery of specialised content, enabling industry-oriented learning through practitioner inputs, contemporary case studies, projects and applied FinTech exposure. The programme will therefore address the growing employability gap between traditional commerce education and the evolving requirements of banks, NBFCs, FinTech companies, payment firms, consulting organisations and technology-enabled financial services, positioning graduates for a wide range of emerging career opportunities.
