Dr. Susmitha Koroth Edavana

Dr. Susmitha Koroth Edavana has been engaged in Literary and Linguistic Research
areas for more than 15 years. Susmitha completed her MPhil and Ph.D. in Linguistic
Translation, focusing on Socio-Cultural aspects of Indian Literature, from the School of
Languages, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. During this period, she received
an opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant in the Centre of Indian Languages, School of
Languages. Susmitha is a university first rank holder and gold medallist for both BA and MA
in Hindi Literature, from Pondicherry Central University.
After a brief stint in All India Radio as a compilation English news Editor (2004-2007) her
interest focused into academic.
Since 2012 she is engaged in teaching for Degree courses (Baldwin Methodist College, Hosur
Road, Bengaluru- 2012-14 & Bishop Cotton Academy for Professional Management,
Yelahanka, Bengaluru-2016-18) with expertise in designing the Curriculum and Course
materials.
Her research interests include Linguistic translation related to socio-cultural aspects of Indian
Literature.
Dr. Susmitha joined St. Joseph’s College of Commerce in June, 2018. At St. Joseph’s college
of commerce apart from the regular curriculum she also leads the efforts for Hindi Parishad
activities. She had also served the institution as NAAC accreditation subcommittee member
under the guidance of Dr. Komal Dave & as Sexual Harassment and Prevention Committee
member along with Dr. Rathi David. Currently she is continuing her duties as Staff Secretary
& PTM Coordinator.
