Aspirant Institutions to promote Quality Assurance in Higher Education
As a part of the quality mandate, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has developed the scheme of PARAMARSH, a new initiative for mentoring non-accredited institutions to enable them to get accredited by the year 2022. The scheme intends to promote well-performing accredited institutions to mentor the NAAC-accreditation aspiring institutions to enhance its own overall quality & enable them to get accredited. St. Joseph's College of Commerce (Autonomous), Bengaluru was identified as a mentor institution, owing to the sustained grade of A in the last three NAAC Accreditation cycle. The College is honoured to have Dr. Nirmala Joseph, Registrar, St Joseph's College of Commerce as the Accreditation Ambassador.
The Mentoring is being imparted through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College which will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the program. The Scheme will be operationalized through a “Hub & Spoke” (H&S Model) wherein the St. Joseph's College of Commerce, the “hub” is centralized and will have the responsibility of guiding the all the Mentee institutions through the secondary branches, the “spoke” which are the additional services provided to the mentee for self-improvement allowing for a centralized control over operational efficiency, resource utilization to attain overall development of the mentee institution. As per the directives of the UGC, the College has identified six Mentee institutions and MOUs have been signed with the Institutions to conduct the program for implementation of the scheme.
