Dr. Anusuya Paul completed her PhD on the topic Women on Stage: A Study of the Performing Culture in Assam from the Central University of Hyderabad, Telangana and her M.Phil thesis was on Virginia Woolf and l’écriture feminine from Dibrugarh University, Assam. She is also UGC-NET qualified. Dr. Anusuya has worked as a Programme Executive at Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development (OKDISCD)-An Autonomous Research Institute under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Guwahati and has coordinated a capacity building project Civic Action for Capacity Building Towards Sustainable Livelihood Among Youths undertaken by the Border Security Forces in Assam in 2009.

She was the Managing Editor for Parivriddhi: An Annual National Refereed Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (ISSN: 2394-9112), New Horizon College Marathalli, Bangalore and the Assistant Editor of the journal for Social Change and Development (ISSN 0975-4016) published by OKDISCD, an autonomous research institute under ICSSR. She is also the Editorial Board member of the International Engineering Journal for Research & Development and World Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has taught legal English, English literature and Business Communication. Her areas of interest include gender and performance, translation and ethnic conflict. Her translated play Urukha has been published by Sahitya Akademi. She has been a regular contributor to national and international peer reviewed journals on language, literature and culture.
