Dr. Komal A Dave; obtained her Post Graduate degree in Commerce from St. Joseph's College of Commerce (Autonomous), Bengaluru, Karnataka in the year 2008 and M.Phil degree from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem, Tamil nadu in the year 2009 (her schooling was from Holy Angels Higher Primary School and then from Goodwill Girls High School; PUC and UG from St. Anne's College, Millers Road, Bengaluru). She qualified the National Eligibility Test in the year 2010 which, is a mandatory qualifier exam conducted by UGC (University Grants Commission- HRD Ministry) to be eligible for teaching students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
She joined her alma mater; St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (Autonomous) in the year 2008 as an Assistant Professor and has been working here ever since. She previously worked with ITC Infotech Sitel for 4 years. In her teaching career spanning over thirteen years; she has handled an array of subjects related to Commerce and Management like Marketing Management, Financial Management, Advanced Financial Management, Cost Accounting, Business Statistics & Research Methodology, Mathematics, Project Management, Production and Operations Management, Business Research Methodology etc.,
She was the Principal Investigator in UGC Sponsored Minor Research Project in the broad area of Banking. She has participated in several National and International Conferences and published articles in UGC recognised journals. She has to her credit edited and compiled books on research studies conducted by students under her guide ship and authored a book on her study related to Pigmy Banking in the year 2018.
She completed her Doctoral studies from Bharathiar University in the year 2020, Tamil Nadu and her Ph.D. dissertation was on the broad area of Developmental Finance focusing on Micro Health Insurance and its impact on the Financial Risk of women.
She was Placement Officer of the institution from 2014 till April, 2020. At present she heads the Post Graduate Department of Commerce (May 2020 onwards). Being in administrative roles, she has been actively involved in working for the college towards National ranking and accreditation bodies such as NAAC, NIRF, Autonomy extensions, etc...
