Dr.T H Lavakumar, is a Poet and the Playwright. Being a versatile artist, he has Directed more than 25 plays in Kannada, Hindi and English and published plays and poetry in Kannada. He Studied theatre in Neenasam and Performing Arts Department of Bangalore University. Got his Masters in Kannada and Ms in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Kuvempu University. Currently He is the Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Kannada. He has been awarded doctoral degree from Bangalore University for his research work on the topic “Theatre in Education: Problems and Possibilities”. He is the Founding Coordinator of Hashmi Theatre Forum. To his credit He has published plays and poetry in Kannada like Kichillada Bege , Samadhigalu Pratibhatisuvudilla, Maragaligaagi Tabbiko etc..
