About the Programme
The Economics Major has been designed to provide a cutting edge expertise in mainstream economics.
This major aims to develop analytical, creative and critical thinking skills for problem solving and
decision making. It aims at better understanding of social, economic and political issues and explores
the full spectrum of the programme. The transferable skills attained through the Economics Major are
highly sought after by employers and increase the employability quotient of students in various dynamic
fields. A student could be an economist, a government advisor, financial consultant, econometrician,
banker and also look forward to different government positions after successful completion of the
programme. The Economics Major integrates different fields like Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, History, Politics, Environmental Studies and Model Building with an inbuilt local as well as global perspective. New elements such as internship, case studies, seminars and research projects enhance deeper understanding of the practical applications of the programme.
The Data Analytics Major has been designed to provide individuals with the essential skills necessary
for extracting valuable insights from extensive datasets, empowering them to make informed decisions
across various industries. Students delve into statistical techniques and advanced tools, honing their
abilities to analyse and interpret complex data sets. The curriculum typically covers crucial aspects
such as data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and the application of machine learning algorithms
to address real-world problems. Hands-on experience with popular data analysis tools like Python,
R, and SQL is a focal point, enhancing students’ proficiency in data manipulation and visualization.
Practical case studies and projects challenge students to apply their acquired skills to authentic data
challenges encountered in industries such as finance, healthcare, and marketing. As the demand for
data-driven decision-making continues to rise, completing this programme becomes a valuable asset
for professionals seeking to advance their careers in areas like business intelligence, data science, and

Timing :
Shift I: 7:00am to 11:00am
It is essential for all candidates seeking admission to the 1 st year of the degree
programme to have completed 12 years of schooling through an examination
conducted by a Board/University. Students must have passed exams at +2
level (ISC/CBSE/ other state boards/International Board/Karnataka PU Board)
in any stream from any recognized boards from India or abroad.
Candidates must have completed Mathematics or Statistics courses in both 11th and 12th grade, as it is an essential requirement for applying to the B.Sc. (Economics and Data Analytics) programme. This is necessary because the programme relies heavily on essential quantitative skills for data analysis and economic modeling.

Indian nationals pursuing an international curriculum in India will pay the fee
applicable for the NRI students during the first year.

Note: Those who applied for admissions in Phase 1 could reapply for Phase 2 however, they need to use an alternative email ID for registration.
● The e-admit card is required to be kept with the candidate throughout the
admission process.
● All students must keep valid ID proof (such as Driving
License/Passport/Electoral ID/Aadhar Card) along with aptitude test admit
cards. Passport and Visa Page if from Outside India.
● Candidates should download their Admit Card from their Applicant portal
(download admit card) on the dates mentioned.
● Candidates will not be allowed for Round 2, if they do not meet the minimum
eligibility conditions.
● In case the candidate has applied for TWO or more programmes, date/time
will be notified in advance. Candidates are therefore, requested to check the
website for the details.
● The responsibility of satisfying the eligibility criteria for the Entrance exam lies
with the candidate. Issue of the E-Admit card for the selection process
does not imply that the eligibility criteria are satisfied.

● The college does not accept capitation/donations for admissions. In case such a demand is made by anyone, it is requested to bring it to the notice, in writing to the Vice President, Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society, Jesuit Nivas, 35, Museum Road, Bengaluru– 560 025.● The decision of the Admissions Committee at St. Joseph’s College of Commerce will be final and binding in all matters concerning admissions.
