Journey of IQAC

ACADEMIC YEAR 2005-2006
St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (Autonomous) was first declared as Five Star Level 2 (among the Affiliated/Constituent Colleges) on February 7, 2000. The same year, the College geared for its first cycle of accreditation. The staff members were involved in preparations for autonomy and NAAC Re-accreditation report. In addition to this, Academic activities and construction of the new building was in full operation. Mr. Ravi Richard and his team were involved with the preparation of the NAAC self-study report throughout the year, and had put in a lot of work for Reaccreditation. The status of Autonomy had brought in fresh air and gave the needed impetus to plan the academic calendar better, keeping in mind the objective – “Excellence with Relevance”. The new building was nearing completion. The students that year had sacrificed a lot and put up with a lot of inconveniences in the hope that the next year they would enjoy more space and better facilities. The NAAC Re-accreditation report was finalized and the Peer team was expected to visit the College for re-accreditation in the coming academic year. Mr. Ravi Richard and his team were involved with Dr. Duggal who organized a Seminar on ‘Mapping Paradigm Shifts in Business Studies: Challenges and Opportunities’, in the College.

Mr. Ravi Richard also attended a seminar on NAAC re-accreditation, the same year. The college encouraged staff members to attend seminars and present papers. Dr. Lily David attended a seminar on ‘Curriculum Innovations and Quality Improvement in Autonomous Colleges’.Ms. Ravi Darshini and Dr. Sheela presented a paper on consumer culture in Holy Cross College, Trichy.
