Dr. Poornima V serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Commerce & Management (UG & PG) at St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (Autonomous) in Bengaluru, bringing to the table over a decade of teaching and research expertise. Having earned her M.Com with first rank from the same institution, she returned as a faculty member in 2012. Dr. Poornima successfully cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in June 2011 and later obtained her Ph.D. in Commerce from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in 2018. Additionally, she holds a certification in IFRS issued by ACCA, UK. She is a recognized Ph.D. Research Supervisor under Bengaluru City University, SJCC Research Centre.

Dr. Poornima V has undertaken various administrative roles, serving as staff secretary, professional programs coordinator, parent-teacher association coordinator, and coordinator for international webinar series on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Presently, she holds the position of Assistant Research Director at the SJCC Research Centre.

Actively engaged in mentoring and guiding both undergraduate and postgraduate students, Dr. Poornima specializes in areas such as Accountancy, Research Methodology, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, and Statistical Tools for Data Analysis using SPSS. Her extensive teaching portfolio includes subjects like Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Strategic Cost and Management Accounting, Cost Management, Corporate Accounting, Accounting for Other Companies, Advanced Financial Accounting, Research Methodology, Operations Research, Business Statistics, Mathematics & Statistics, and professional courses of ACCA such as Financial Accounting (FA) and Performance Management (PM), Basic Econometrics, and Auditing.

Dr. Poornima has actively participated and presented in numerous National and International seminars, conferences, FDP workshops, and training programs. She has authored several research papers published in reputable journals and has been recognized with the "Adarsh Vidhya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar (National Award of Excellence 2018)" by the Global Management Council, Ahmedabad.

Acknowledged as one of the Best Teachers in the country, she has received acclaim for her outstanding contributions to the education field. Her commitment to teaching was evident during her undergraduate days, where she conducted Bridge Courses and Remedial Classes. Driven by a passion for excellence in teaching and a dedication to sharing knowledge, her motto remains "Passion for Excellence in Teaching" and "Sharing Knowledge".
