Time elapsed in the click of a finger. My experience as a cultural exchange student in Japan was unforgettable. It was not only fun but was a knowledge enriching experience giving me the chance to meet amazing people and explore a culture so different yet similar from my own. Their beautiful and respectful traditions along with the heartwarming hospitality made me feel truly welcome. I am extremely grateful to our esteemed institution for giving me this opportunity. The memories and lessons I’ve gained will stay with me forever.
Through the cultural exchange program, I've come to realize that to truly understand and experience a foreign country's people and their culture, one must set foot on their land and live among them. My cultural Immersion journey to Japan managed to add an extra layer of depth to my personality. The result of the program has made me curious about how the rest of the world lives in contrast to me. I have also discovered a newfound passion in me to further explore different cultures all around the world. And I'm grateful that SJCC has provided me with such a unique opportunity.
Attending the LSE Summer School in 2024 was an unforgettable experience, and I am deeply grateful to the International desk which provided invaluable guidance and support throughout the process. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to SJCC for giving me this incredible opportunity.
LSE was a world apart. The campus, infrastructure and way of teaching was a breath of fresh air. Although it was hard, I relished the challenge. It was the experience of a lifetime. Just the opportunity to meet people from 90+ countries and indulge in a different culture was worth everything. There were several social, academic and outings that were also organised by LSE that made it easier to socialise with new people. Father and the international board of SJCC were nothing but encouraging. All the documents needed were given and there was no problem with credits and attendance. Initially hesitant, I was more confident about the choice to enrol in summer school after knowing that my college would be extremely accommodating.
“When I sat at the Kansai airport and recollected the loving faces of the girls who
shed a tear when we bid farewell to Japan, the memories of this whole journey were
flooding my mind. Did it begin with the announcement that I was selected for this
trip? But it all really goes back to my Montessori days when I had dressed up as a
Japanese girl in a kimono for various activities. Well, destiny has its ways.
Without a doubt this journey was an impeccable one. And I will cherish every bit of
this trip. Right from the serene environment and the beautiful Kobe College to the
busy cities and streets that were straight out of an anime series. Certainly, our polite
and courteous hosts have left a lasting impact on us. I am grateful to SJCC for
entrusting me with this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

“For a person like me who loves travelling and exploring, the opportunity to visit
Japan was a dream come true. The culture, beauty and the values of the country left
me awestruck. I had a very enlightening gastronomical journey as I struck each item
off my food wishlist in Japan, from a variety of tempura to mocha. During my stay, I
realized that despite the language barrier that we faced with our Japanese
counterparts we grew so attached to the girls and I continue to keep in touch with
most of them.”

“Japan to me was a country that never existed on my travel list. Now, after the trip
everything has changed. Even after having visited it, Japan is still on top of my list of
countries to visit. The discipline and the humility of the people of Japan are things
that still amuse me. The greenery, especially the maple trees of Japan is a sight
everyone has to witness. With the complexity of the train system in the country
comes along a complimentary simplicity in their way of life including their clothing.
The flavour in their food despite the lack of spices that we generally associate with
taste is amazing. The hospitality of the people of Japan is beyond anything I
imagined, and Japan is definitely a must visit destination regardless of the language
barrier due to the endless survival tools available online.”

“After being selected to represent SJCC on a global platform, I never knew what to
expect, especially considering my knowledge of the country was so limited prior to
my visit. The second I set foot into Japan, I was captivated by its impressive history,
rich culture and kind people. Multiple lessons in calligraphy and the Japanese
language as well as a two day stay in a Buddhist monastery gave me reasons to
further respect the local culture and tradition. The country perfectly balances
Western professionalism with Eastern hospitality and has so much to offer, from
impeccable infrastructure to unique culinary experiences. We were fortunate to be
hosted by the staff and students of Kobe College, who embodied everything their
culture stands for. The exchange programme continues to influence my outlook and
choices in ways I would never have imagined. For this reason, I will forever be
indebted to both colleges for what was truly an unparalleled experience and also
recommend Japan as a destination to anyone who has the opportunity to travel
there.”

France was a great experience. ESDES in Lyon is a great business school with
teachers coming from diverse nationalities and backgrounds. The International
Students Club at ESDES has students from all over the world studying with us so it
has been a great multi-cultural learning experience as well.
